The Best Ab Exercises You Can Use

Developing the best set of abs means looking more to undertaking the best ab exercises you can find. Forget about doing endless amounts of sit ups and leg raises, as there are far more effective exercises to try. Although those are good exercises, they are not the best ab exercises.

Mountain Climbers Using A Swiss Ball

This is a very effective way to start using the best ab exercises. You will need a Swiss ball or something similar, and the idea is to position your hands on top of the Swiss ball much like you would when doing push ups. You then tighten your ab muscles and gently raise one knee to meet your chest. Hold that knee in place for 3-5 seconds then gently lower back to the floor. Repeat this with the other leg. Do this about 10-15 times initially and gradually increase the number of reps in your set making sure you feel okay with the increase each time. If you are doing (as we suggest) 2-3 sets per day, make sure you allow a minute or so in between each set of exercises.

Another of the best ab exercises is the bicycle crunch. Laying flat on your back with your legs at an angle of 45 degrees, bring one leg slowly towards your chest, while at the same time lowering the opposite arm to meet the leg in motion. Think of this as you would ride a bicycle while laying on the ground.

One of the very best ab exercises is what is commonly called the “side plank”. It requires that you lie on your side on the floor using your forearm to hold your upper body up off the floor. You then need to raise your body off the floor to form a straight line (like a plank) from the ankles to the shoulder. When you have this posture, tighten your abs and hold the position for a minute. Gently return your body to the starting position and wait 20 seconds before proceeding to the next rep (repetition)

Although there are many hundreds of exercises that will provide great ab structure over time, it is important to be involving yourself with the best ab exercises to achieve the desired results in the desired time frame. Of course exercises are only one ingredient, and diet is another. Maintaining a good diet, with healthy and nutritious food items, works in unison with your best ab exercises and both need to fit into your lifestyle and your daily schedule.

Working on your goal to achieve great looking abs, should be enjoyable and you should be able to feel and see results. If this is not the case after a few weeks, look to implement alternatives to benefit you.
