In today’s modern world we have seen a massive increase in the number of health related businesses in our communities. Part of the reason for this is the fact that most of us now understand that the habits we have developed are not necessarily healthy and we need ways to combat or change those habits. Another reason of course is the fact that when people (us) have an issue we want to deal with (like weight loss) there is always someone who is going to see potential in making a profit by selling us something that we think we need. One of the fundamental changes you can make to your health and to start losing body fat is to adjust the way you eat your food and how often. Most of us consume 3 larger meals each day and we also tend to snack a lot between meals. What we should be doing, especially if we want to lose body fat, is reduce the amount of food per meal, and increase the number of times we eat each day. Instead of having 3 larger meals and snacks, have 6 smaller meals and no snacks. If there is around 2 hours’ between each meal, your metabolism will increase and your calorie intake will decrease, both of which are things we need to achieve in order to lose body fat, and tone our body.

Drink more water each day. 6-8 glasses are the recommended water consumption for a healthy adult, and this has more benefits than we realize. Water flushes out the system, washing away any impurities that remain after eating the food we eat every day. The more water consumed the more hydration, and the more flushing.

Combined with these simple changes, add a good targeted exercise program. Good exercise to lose body fat means that you want to be conducting brisk walks, jogging, cycling or swimming as a general exercise regime, and adding specific exercises to concentrate on certain areas on your body. Things like “crunches”, “step ups”, “sit ups” and others will target the abs for example.

It is important to exercise on a regular basis, and if you have discussed your desires with a professional fitness instructor, follow their advice, and do it every day or according to their exercise schedule. Low integrity aerobic exercise is a great way to lose body fat, so discuss this with your trainer as well.
